Since last spring, our community and our region have faced the challenges of COVID-19 head-on. We have embraced strict safety measures to protect all members of our community, and we have taken every effort to continue providing peace of mind throughout the pandemic. Here are a few key updates from around our community to show that life at The Knolls is safe, secure and as fun as ever!

Operations

We’re pleased to share that The Knolls is fully operational with strong safety measures in place, including all of the time-saving services that members of our community get to enjoy such as housekeeping, concierge, maintenance, landscaping, security, transportation and more. For example, while USPS cannot currently deliver directly to mailboxes in the community, our team has taken over sorting and delivering mail to each individual residence!

Our dining experiences and services

Our casual bistro is open for grab-and-go service for breakfast and lunch every day. Our dining room is currently open, with three seatings offered in the evening (4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.). Residents may still also receive chef-inspired cuisine prepared and delivered safely and directly to their apartments by request. Based on current protocols, delivery will continue as a no-charge option.

Outside visitors

The Knolls is now open to outside visitors, who must pass a temperature check and sign in upon entering our community. For those unable to visit, our team has worked diligently to ensure residents are able to communicate as often as they like with friends and family via video and other technology.

To protect residents and staff, all people coming to the community, such as package carriers, contractors and service providers, are also thoroughly screened at the main campus entrance before they may enter.

Activities you can still enjoy at The Knolls

As we continue to adhere to strict social distancing and cleaning protocols, we are slowly reintroducing many of our live, enriching small group activities such as fitness, arts and social clubs. We also anxiously await the reopening of the Jacob Burns Film Center, museums and cultural destinations so we can restart group outings. Our Cultural Arts Department is continuing to provide engaging and artistic content through virtual and video options.

Events and tours

The Knolls’ in-person informational sessions and preview events are currently paused, but we have been hosting regular webinars that provide all the key details about this wellness-focused CCRC in Westchester. Contact us to get more info about these virtual sessions!

And for those interested in getting a firsthand look at our beautifully landscaped community, we are offering in-person tours and all residences are open for walkthroughs.

COVID-19 safety

All staff members (dining, housekeeping, healthcare, activities, maintenance, etc.) are tested for COVID-19 weekly, and no staff members have tested positive. We will not let our guard down and we will continue being vigilant to do our part to keep our community healthy—and that means everyone.
